Boat Seat Complete

My friends Dan and Russell came over and to help me work on my boat. The driver seat has been in bad shape and as of late it was totally broken. The base was actually the broken part. So, we started at 6 pm right after I left work. I stopped on the way to my house at Ace Hardware for some nails and bolts. The people there said you have two minutes. I took about three. I showed them, hey? I got to my house just as Dan was getting there. We set up and started to get the things rocking. We got the old stuff out of there. At first I was thinking of rebuilding the whole base, but I found the boards were in decent shape. What it needed was just to be rebuilt. We added a few 2x4's for support purposes. We added support to the rail system that the seat rides on. Once we screwed everything together, and got the seat top on, it was pretty clear that is was strong. We put it into the boat and secured it to the floor. Afterwards Russell and I went to Subway and ate; and we started to talk about politics.

Interestingly enough, I am a rarity among a group I belong to. Most are liberal, or at least left leaning. I am a conservative. Russell follows suit with the majority of the people in the group. He tends to be more left leaning. So, we disagree politically on most issues, however we are both Philosophy graduates. I think this is why we have such a strong relationship with such opposingly (is that a word? I guess it is now. I mean it bling-bling is a word, mine has to be one as well.) different views on issues. We understand what it means to "argue" in a philosophical sense. We don't get mad and heated at each other. We make statements and back them up. He is one of the only people I can do that with. Most of my other friends are non-Philosophy. They do not understand how to reason and argue. Many times they are emotional and irrational. You truly can not argue with someone's emotions. Irrational arguing is impossible as well. So, I tend to stay away from the debates/arguments with my friends as I have found it is fruitless. When Russell and I argue, it is enjoyable since we do it on a philosophical level.
