Chose to win.

I had to work on a computer in the prosecutor's office today. I was switching out an old one for a new one. It went with pretty much no incident. I also worked on closing out a few issues.

I had CPR and FBAO for infant and child training at Pullman Fire starting at nineteen hundred hours. That training took about two hours to get through everything and get practical signed off.

I went to my office and Dan came down. A check I had given to him was not signed. I signed it for him so he could cash it. We sat down and just chatted about stuff. Dan had been a great friend over the years. He has helped me with my business. He helped me set up for my party at my house. He helped me move. He helped me network my office. He has really been there for me.

We both left and I went home to Colfax. I wanted to get to bed early so I could get up and do some running.

Through out the day today I spent thinking about the NFL playoffs and the way two games ended. St. Louis and Green Bay were both knocked out. I believe both team did not play to win. They played to not lose, and that is exactly what they ended up doing. St. Louis could have used more than one minute they let tick off the clock to drive the field. Score a touchdown and win the game. Instead they chose to go for the tie and try to win in overtime. Green Bay on the other hand had been running the ball without problems. On their last drive they were doing awesome on moving the ball. With forth and less than one yard to go, I would suspect that going for it would seal the game. Punting would give Philadelphia another chance. They chose to punt. Once again, rather than taking the game into their own hands they tried to see if the other team would lose the game. Defense is important, but you will on offense. Defense will preserve that win. One thing however that will lose a game is "prevent defense". Prevent defense prevents you from winning.

Coaches are so scared of winning they play not to lose. You have a chance for a win. You need to seize the opportunity and go for the win.

In both cases I wanted the losing team to win. I was rooting for both St. Louis and Green Bay. But with the choices their coaches made, I then wanted them to lose to prove my point.
