Loading the quad

I got up nice and early and headed back home. I changed into work clothes and headed into work. When I got in I talked to a guy who does snow plowing. He plowed my driveway. I went home at lunch to load my qaud into my truck so I could get a plow blade put on it. It took about an hour and a half to load it. I had to push it into my truck myself. First I had to get it out of the shed and through the deep snow. I thought that was tough, then I tried to load it. Without a ton of traction, I started to get it up the ramp. Then I could go no more. I used a rock as a tire chock.

I pushed and pushed. My back started to hurt. Then I thought that if I had a come-along like would be better. But I don't have one. Then I thought well, I have a ratcheting tie down strap set. I pulled one out and started to use that to move the quad into the truck. It would go about an inch. I would then push on the quad and it would go higher. I moved the rock into the tire once again. I did this about two or three times. Finally I gave it a big push. I got the qaud to where the front tire were about to go on to the ramp.

I ratcheted some more. And the quad moved up ever so slightly. Pretty soon I gave up since it was not going very fast. I decided to push the quad all the way into the truck bed. I gave a big push, then a second big push and finally the quad moved up the ramp. I finally got it in the truck. I felt good. But it cost me dearly in time worked. I am going to have to come in on Friday and work now.

I got a call from Pete about covering as coroner. I will be on until Thursday at zero hundred hours.

After work I went to Pullman to play poker with John and Dan. I got to my office and John and Dan got there within about ten minutes. I was the big winner on the night. We played a ton of games as normal. I just seemed to win many of the games. It was nice. Following that, I went home and watched some TV before going to bed.
