Tuesday night poker.

So I got to work late. Damn it anyway. It seemed like it was a long day, sort of dragged on. I have been working on getting some computers ready to use in the treasurers office. When the mainframe is moved from the basement of the jail to the in IS building, then the old dumb terminals will no longer work.

The country treasurer also needed my help trying to get files off an old five and a quarter floppy disk. I had to get one of the surplus computers hooked up to do that. I got the files, but it was not what he was hopping it was. I stayed and worked late to make up for being late on Monday.

Following work I went to the fire station for our monthly business meeting. We voted for new officers. I was nominated with six others for president. Clark ended up winning. After training Jimmy, Jim, Carl, and I played cards. It was a lot of fun.

I was talking about playing poker back when I was in middle school in band. Jim said "this one time at band camp..." Then I chimed in, "I got a flush." Then I paused and said "it was called summer's eve." Everyone was laughing so hard. We were having fun.

A call came out at the high school for a person with an injury at the basketball game. It seems that three players collided; one of them broke his collar bone. He was in a lot of pain. We got there and the dad wanted to take his son to the hospital himself. Dad was not happy that we were there. We did not do a whole lot, except to help the kid to the car.

We went back and played about two more rounds of cards and that was it for the night. Jim, Ken, and I talked for a little while and then we headed out. I got home around eleven thirty.
