Second to last night on call.

I was so tired this morning I slept in too long. I kept trying to get up but I couldn't finally I called in and said I was not feeling well enough to work right now and that I would be in later. I finally did get up and going at about eleven o'clock. I worked out the rest of the day.

I found out that the critical position designation cannot be given and therefore I cannot get the raise we would like to see, therefore I am going to be leaving. I am very bummed about that. I e-mailed a huge list of people I know to let them know what is going on.

I headed to Pullman for training and to be on call. We had HazMat refresher training. Then we went to the station and watched the end of the M's game. The M's gave up three runs in the ninth inning and ended up losing the game.

I went to my office and chatting online for a while. I went to Jon's room in Rogers for a little while. We had some fun and then I left and went back to the office. I talked with Ryan online and finally headed to bed at about midnight.

But sleep was not on the schedule for today. We had two calls back-to-back. It was four in the morning. The tones go off for a detox. We got there and we were cancelled. The police came out from the apartment. It was Matt and Mike. I told them I was off. Matt gave me a good firm hand shake and wished me luck. Matt is a really good guy. We got back to the station. We all got home and were crawling into bed went the second call came out. It was a detox at the police department.

We got on scene and I fully expected to be cancelled. We instead were asked to bring the cot inside. We got inside and a young man was sitting in the restraint chair. The restraint chair is something people get strapped to when they are a danger to themselves or someone else. Someone's arms, legs, chest, and waist are all strapped so there is no movement.

There was some substance all over the floor. It looked like something was sprinkled on the floor to clean up another spill of some sort. It turns out the kid peed in his pants and it was all over the floor. That was not fun. Taking one limb out of the restraint chair's straps at a time we put our own restraints on. He was tied down to the cot using each limb, then we seat belted him in. We put him in the cot. He went from crying to angry quickly.

This went on to the hospital. At the hospital we moved him to a hospital bed. We restrained him again. During the time there we talked about stuff. I tried to keep him calm. I asked him about being an EMT. I asked him where he was an EMT. I asked him about his plans after graduation.

We cleared the hospital a little before six o'clock AM. I decided that I would get my stuff and head back to Colfax so I could get some work done.
