Finding the bottom line.

I spent most of the day at work trying to find the bottom line of what the opportunity cost is of choosing Pullman over a huge raise. I also spent some time doing bug work as well. From the looks of it I would be better off staying here, duh! But would the intangibles be better. I would get five dollar tuition over there. I would have my friends, the coroners office, and everything else back.

But if I stay I can get my bills paid down and in a few year I could easily afford to go back to Pullman, however, it would take a while to build back what I had. Including waiting years to get back on the coroners office.

I talked with the chief at Pullman fire on the phone. He was pretty short and did not give me much time. He said move back, get settled and then come meet with him and see if something can be worked out. I called him later in the afternoon to ask to set up a meeting. I have one set up for Thursday afternoon. I think his answer will weigh heavily on my final decision.

I talked to Jon today about this as well. We decided to meet up and work on it with each other. I went to his house and we went through the money aspect and talked about taxes as well. After talking with him I will see about seven to eight hundred dollars more per month take home. However, should I have to get a place over here and what not, that money would be gone and I would be no better off that I am now.

That left me no closer to a decision that I was at the beginning of the day. I have decided that I will make a final decision on Friday. I cancelled my interview with Administrative Services. There is no way they could compete. I will spend Friday thinking hard. I plan on stopping by and talking to my would-be boss as well.
